2024.10.26 Join us for the annual Halloween Event in Ikenoue
2024年10月26日(土)16:30から18：30まで、第8回『ハロウィンの夜を楽しもう』が開催されます
On October 26, 2024, a Halloween event was held in Ikenoue. This annual tradition, organized by the Ikenoue Image Enhancement Council, celebrated its 8th year. The event continues to expand each year, and this time, the newly constructed Ikenoue Elementary School was included as one of the venues.
In addition to the Shoei-kai Shopping District Association in front of Ikenoue Station, 26 shops from three shopping district associations spanning Ikenoue Station to Higashi-Kitazawa Station participated by providing candy. Furthermore, eight local organizations set up various game booths, while activities such as a Halloween Bon Odori dance and violin performances added to the festive atmosphere. This has become one of the largest events in the Daizawa and Kitazawa areas.
Link & Learn International is committed to helping all residents connect with their local community, transcending nationality and language barriers. For this year’s Ikenoue Halloween event, we formed a multicultural international volunteer team and hosted a craft workshop where children enjoyed creating Jack-o'-lanterns with paper, guided entirely by instructions provided in English.
The volunteer team held two online meetings beforehand and worked together to collect 150 milk cartons. On the preparation day, October 19, they pre-cut all the paper pieces required for the crafts, a total of 2,000 pieces. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the 14 volunteers who generously contributed their time and effort to these preparations.
On the day of the event, various game booths, including a giant Daruma Otoshi game, were set up in the playground of Ikenoue Elementary School. At our booth, children participated in the English-guided craft workshop. While some younger participants took longer to complete their crafts, and a few unexpected challenges arose, nearly 120 children successfully created their Jack-o'-lanterns over two hours, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and left with smiles on their faces.
Although many children were initially shy about speaking in English, they listened attentively to the instructions and eventually left the booth proud of their creations. We sincerely thank all the volunteers who made this event possible. Your dedication and support were invaluable!
2024年10月26日、「ハロウィンの夜を楽しもう」というイベントが池ノ上で開催されました。このイベントは、池ノ上イメージアップ推進協議会が主催する恒例行事で、今年で第8回目を迎えます。年々規模が拡大しており、今年は新たに完成した池ノ上小学校の校舎も会場の一部として利用されました。
池ノ上駅前の商栄会だけでなく、池ノ上駅から東北沢駅にかけての3つの商店街から26店舗が協力し、お菓子を提供しました。また、地域の8つの団体が各種ゲームコーナーを設置し、ハロウィン盆踊りやバイオリン演奏も行われ、このイベントは代沢・北沢地域でも最大級のイベントの一つとなっています。
Link & Learn Internationalは、国籍や言語の壁を越え、すべての住民が地域とつながることを応援しています。今年の池ノ上ハロウィンイベントでは、地域の子どもたちのために、ボランティアで多国籍の国際チームを結成し、英語で楽しむクラフト・ワークショップを開催しました。ワークショップでは、英語で指導しながら、画用紙でジャックオランタンを作りました。
ボランティアメンバーは、オンラインで2回のミーティングを行い、10月19日の事前準備では協力して150個の牛乳パックを集めました。また、画用紙はすべて事前にパーツごとに切り分け、合計で2000ピースにもなる作業を完了しました。この準備にご協力いただいた14名余りの皆さま、本当にありがとうございました。
当日、池ノ上小学校の校庭には大型のダルマ落としゲームなど、さまざまなゲームコーナーが設置され、私たちも英語でクラフトのブースを開きました。小さなお子さまが多かったため、制作に時間がかかる場面や予想外の出来事もありましたが、午後4時半から6時半の2時間で、約120名のお子さまにジャックオランタンを作って楽しんでいただくことができました。英語での挨拶や指導について、子どもたちは最初は恥ずかしがって発話ができない子もいましたが、しっかり聞き取る様子が見られ、クラフト完成後には笑顔で帰っていきました。当日11名のボランティアのメンバーの皆さまも、どうもありがとうございました。
