Job Title: Yoga Instructors, Dance Instructors, Martial Arts Instructors, Fitness Specialists, Children Educators, Art Teachers, Craft Teachers, Cooking Teachers, Science Teachers, Drama Teachers

Location: Ikenoue Studio / 3 mins walk from Ikenoue station (3 stops / 5 mins from Shibuya on Inokashira Line)

Type: Freelance / Contract / Part Time / Temporary / Volunteer


Work schedule: Variety of shifts available. Regular classes 1-2 hours per day, 1-2 times per week from April. A few hours gig/temporary work on weekends. 

Salary: Hourly rate plus incentives depending on language ability and number of students. It’s negotiable. (If you don't have a working permit due to visa restrictions but would still like to develop teaching skills for personal growth and connect with others, we welcome volunteers and provide some benefits instead of payment.)

About Us:
We are in the process of setting up a learning hub to provide various classes in English for all age groups at our facility. We seek enthusiastic and dedicated certified teachers/instructors to join our team and lead classes promoting your specialised subject. Our ultimate aim is to create an internationally friendly haven that transcends borders and language barriers through gaining knowledge and positive experiences in our classes and events, fostering connections with local community and NPOs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • For yoga, dance: Individuals must have the minimum qualifications and appropriate instructor certifications and a minimum of 1-year experience to teach group exercise classes.
  • For teaching children: Individuals must have a minimum degree in Education or a related field to teach in English, with a minimum of 1-year experience teaching children’s classes.
  • Individuals must be interested in working in an on-going / part-time capacity and can commit to at least 1 year of contract-based employment.
  • Japanese language ability is preferred but not required. We will find a class assistant with Japanese ability if needed.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification is welcome.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sufficiently plans and prepares for activities; take attendance and ensure class begins and ends on time; reports in English to manager after class in a timely fashion.
  • Listen to students, answer questions, and engage in conversation before and after classes.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to teach a safe, fun, and creative class.
  • Successful applicant must agree to a background check as needed.
